Greetings! I am Miss Lensch and have been teaching PE in OPS
for twelve years. I have been at Standing Bear for nearly seven years now. I love kids
and teaching them games! “Exercise in Disguise” is a great way to get young
people active in this digital, sedentary world we live in! I try to teach a
variety of fun games, skills and activities in my classes. Students also learn
important life lessons such as responsibility, cooperation with others,
community involvement, teamwork and sportsmanship. I have a “shoe race” with my
3rd and 4th graders, awarding the classes who most
consistently bring appropriate gym shoes. At Standing Bear, students have an
opportunity to participate in the “Kids Heart Challenge”, a fundraiser for the
American Heart Association. I award “PE Student of the Month” certificates to 2nd,
3rd and 4th graders who demonstrate some of the above
qualities in PE class. You are welcome to come and observe my class any time! I
hope your child’s PE “take-aways” will be healthy habits, fun new games, new
friends and positive life-long memories!
